Prof. Dr. Riaz is a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychotherapist and Addiction Psychiatry Specialist. He is a graduate from the University of Geneva and is Swiss Board certified since 1998.
With nearly 30 years University Hospital career and more than 6 years of private practice, he has relocated to the UAE and has co-created the concept of Brain Health and Lifestyle Medicine. During his institutional career, Dr Riaz has trained widely in Geriatric, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry.
He was the former interim Head, Deputy Head of Addiction Division, Deputy Head of Anxiety Disorders and Head of the Emergency Psychiatry Unit at the Geneva University Hospital.
Dr Riaz was the former Treasurer of the International Society of Addiction Medicine (ISAM) and is a distinguished fellow of ISAM.
He is an active researcher with over 76 publications, an H-index score of 20, excluding self citations and a Research Gate Score of 987 with 1389 citations excluding self citations.
He is the Medical Director of Synergy Brain Health & Lifestyle Medicine, based in Cure Medical Center in Abu Dhabi.
